Text reads:

Was born in Bertie township on July 23rd 1857, his father being the late Peter House. He has always lived in that township and since growing into manhood he has taken an active part in municipal affairs. In 1889-90 he was a member of the township council and in 1895-6 was second deputy reeve. When the new county councils act came into force he was elected County Commissioner, which honor he has held ever since, resulting this year in his being selected as warden for the county. At the present time he is also President of the Welland County Liberal Conservative Association and considered one of the best workers in the party.
