Description
Colour photograph of the mural "Tugboats" by Stefan Bell, c. 1991.
Painted in 1988 by Stefan Bell of Ottawa, ON, at 77 East Main Street facing Cross Street, 37' X 16'.
The concept was to show the old boats of the waterways in their primary locations: going through the canals, out in the lake, and docking. The graphic bars divide the boats in their separate situations, and the sky above and water below unite all the elements into one picture.
Picture of mural and information from the book "A Festival of Canadian Art: Welland's Giant Outdoor Murals" by Jerry Gibb.
