Was born in the Town of Thorold. Welland County, on April 27th, 1861, the son of John Battle, who died in the year 1891 at the age of 67 years. Mr. Battle has filled the position of Councillor, Reeve and Mayor of his native town, and was Evan E. Fraser's opponent in the late contest in Welland County for the Local Legislature. He is a prominent contractor, and among other important works he built the masonry of the Alexandra bridge in the Town of Welland. In politics he is an ardent Liberal, and in religion a Roman Catholic.
