Text reads:

Of Burnaby, was born in the township of Wainfleet in 1861, the son of William. Hill, a native of Northumberland, England, who came to Canada in the early fifties. He was educated in the public schools and was early apprenticed as a carpenter. For the past 23 years he has followed the occupation of contractor and builder, in which he has experienced an ever-increasing success. He also conducts a farm of 50 acres at Burnaby. Mr. Hill is a member of the Church of England and in politics is a Conservative. He served on the Township Council in 1899, 1900 and 1901, and was elected Reeve by acclamation for the years 1902, 1903 and 1904. In the election this year for the reeveship he defeated Major John Barwell by a majority of 303.
