Text reads:

George Turner was born at Thorold on August 30th, 1849. He was educated in the Thorold Public Schools. He has been engaged in the manufacture of carriages and general blacksmithing for thirty years. He served in the Canadian Volunteer Militia from 1865 to 1874. Twenty-one years ago be entered the Town Council of the Town of Thorold, and has since filled acceptably the offices of Councillor, Deputy-reeve, Reeve and Mayor of that town, besides serving on the Public and High School Boards. He is now County Commissioner for the Municipalities of the Town of Welland, Township of Thorold, and Town of Thorold. In politics, he has been a life-long Conservative, having been for a time President of the Conservative Association of the Town of Thorold.
