Is the senior member of the firm of Cronmiller & White, brewers, Port Colborne. He was born in Bertie Township in 1829 and spent his boyhood days on a farm. In 1850 he married Miss Caroline Weidman of Humberstone and began life as a farmer in his native township. In 1860 he started a store and hotel in Humberstone, which he continued for thirteen years. Then he engaged in buying grain, and in 1875 started the brewery. The business has grown extensively since then. For several years Mr. Cronmiller served in Port Colborne Council and in the County Council, being warden in 1898. In 1902 he was the Conservative candidate for the Legislature, and though defeated he made an excellent run. He is the head of a large and prosperous family.
