Text reads:

John Reeb was born in Alsace, France (now Germany), on Nov. 21st, 1832. He came to Canada in 1848 and started life as a farmer, his sole resources being his conception of business requirements combined with energy and perseverence. To-day he is President of the Welland County Lime Works Co., of the Producers and Mutual Natural Gas Companies, and of the Imperial Plaster Co, Toronto, and is one of the most extensive and wealthiest business men of the county. His first and probably best business venture was the lime works, which were started in 1853, when Mr. Reeb burned his first lime over a brush pile. Mr. Reeb's sons are associated with him in the various businesses, and all have beautiful homes in and near Port Colborne. Mr. Reeb and his good wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year.
