Text reads:

Edward Morris was born in Benbighshire, Wales, in 1838. When ten years of age he came to Canada, and resided in Ontario county until 1860. In 1866 he began farming in Bertie township. Five years later he moved to Pelham and started the Pelham Small Fruit Farm, from which has grown the big nurseries of Morris & Wellington, known all over America. Mr. Morris is of a reserved disposition, but one of the solid men of the county. He has served as warden twice, and has frequently been spoken of as a parliamentary candidate.
