Description:Black and white photograph showing Ross Public School on Niagara Street, c. 1928, a year after the school was opened in 1927.
The first principal was Mr. S. H. Niece with an enrolment of 319 pupils. It holds the distinction of being the first elementary school in Welland equipped with a large assembly hall able to accommodate 600 people.
