The following biographical text is taken from "History of the Village of Fonthill" by a committee of The Fonthill Women's Institute, published 1944, revised 1962: "Dr. John Hansler, son of Andrew Hansler, came here in October, 1881, fresh from college where he was a gold medalist. He located in one of the fine residences on the hill-top, then owned by John Willson. He carried on his practice here for many years until his death in April, 1924.
