Burr Plato obituary, October 3, 1905

Burr Plato

An obituary from the October 3, 1905 edition of the Welland Tribune and Peoples Press about Burr Plato, who died September 27, 1905. He was an escaped slave who fled to Niagara through the Underground Railroad. In 1886 he was elected councillor for the Village of Niagara Falls, then part of Welland County, and retired from public office in 1901.
