First Street School was opened in 1912 and was built on land donated by the Plymouth Cordage Company. It originally had five rooms, this photo was taken two years later after it had just expanded to eight rooms. In 1981 the school's students were transferred to Plymouth School, and First Street School was renamed École Dr. Renaud and became a french-speaking school.
