Black and white photograph of an aerial view of downtown Welland, c. 1912-1921.
It was taken between 1912-1921 because the Welland trolley and its tracks can be seen on East Main and King Streets. This was the Niagara, Welland and Lake Erie Railway (NW&LE) electric streetcar system, which operated in Welland from 1912 to 1930. Also dating the photo is the Welland Fire Hall, which can be seen in front of the Welland Courthouse, which was demolished in 1921.
The Alexandra swing bridge can be seen on the bottom left, and Welland City Hall at bottom right.
