Was born in Humberstone on April 26th, 1864, the son of Daniel Near, at one time Welland's representative in the Legislature. Albert E. Near follows the occupation of a farmer, residing near the old homestead. He was educated in the public schools, and in 1890 succeeded his father as township clerk. Among his activities he carries on the business of conveyancing. Mr. Near is a prominent Conservative.
