Charles Henderson was born in the Township of Wainfleet, October 7th, 1853, and, with the exception of seven years, he has always lived there. He has been extensively engaged in the timber, basswood bolts and heading, and cordwood business, combined with farming. He has held many public positions. For fifteen years he was auditor of the Township, and for three years held a similar position in the County. In 1899 he was elected to represent District No. 4 (Wainfleet and Pelham) in the County Council, and has twice been re-elected In 1900 he was Warden, and the following year he was tendered the Conservative nomination for the Legislature in Monck County. At one time he served as lieutenant in No. 7 Co., 44th Batt. For the past eighteen years he has been the energetic and successful Secretary- Treasurer of the Wainfleet Agricultural Society.
