Two colour slides showing work being done on the roof of the Welland Public Library building extension, March 1975. Visitors are Chief Librarian Shirley Jones at the top of the ladder, and architect Louis Macie in the beige coat.

The slides are part of a photographic record of 600 images to document the construction work undertaken to expand the Carnegie building in 1974 and 1975. The library had become too small to house a growing collection and to serve the growing population of Welland.
