The text on the back reads: "The 3rd Welland Canal, circa 1920. The ship, which is south bound, is passing over the 3rd Canal Aqueduct and is heading for the Alexandra swing bridge. In the foreground you see the lockmaster's house and the lock that allowed smaller ships to pass from the canal to the Welland River."
