The postcard was written on and mailed to a Miss Jennie Martin of Toronto. Written it says "I was here on Sunday. Wish you many happy returns on the 19th (illegible signature)." "17/6 06(?)." The sender had visited on Sunday June 17, 1906, written the postcard on Tuesday June 19, and it was stamped by the post office on Wednesday June 20. The photograph on the postcard could have been taken some time before 1906. [show more]

Description:Colour photographic postcard of the Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Falls, c. 1969-1971.
Captioned on the back "The Honeymoon Capital of the World." The falls are 1,000 feet wide and situated twenty miles from Lake Erie and fourteen miles from the river mouth in Lake Ontario. The Canadian (or Horseshoe) Falls are 160 feet high; the American Falls being 167 feet high. The scene shows the Heritage Tower towering 665 feet above the Niagara Gorge. Dine in the sky at the elegant Crown Suite Dining Rooms in the crown of the tower." [show more]

Description:Colour photographic postcard of locks 4, 5, 6 at Thorold on the Welland Canal, undated. Text on the back of the postcard reads: 'Locks 4, 5, 6 at Thorold, Ontario: The St. Lawrence Seaway in the broadest sense, is a huge water-way extending 2,300 miles from the Atlantic Ocean to the head of the Great Lakes in the heart of North America. The photo shows the lake vessel FORT YORK out of Montreal entering Lock 4 on its way up the mountain and showing another vessel in Lock 5 and another further up in Lock 6. This is the only series of flight locks on the Welland Canal section.' [show more]
