Description:Black and white photograph of four men next to journalism equipment at Niagara College. Larry Smith, the former managing editor of the St. Catharines Standard, had just retired in May. A $1,500 surplus from his retirement dinner was given to Niagara College to establish a scholarship in the college's print-journalism program.
From left to right: Larry Smith; Dennis Malone, chairman of the college communication arts division; Craig Swayze, assistant managing editor the the Standard; and T.N. Morrison, retired managing editor of the Welland Tribune.
