Fans lined up to congratulate Bauer on his past cycling season in Europe. Marion Wright, then 16, said she collects newspaper clippings of Bauer. The photograph shows Bauer signing an autograph for 6-year-old Joshua Boudreau. Bauer also discusses the controversy on his last race, with the Belgian cyclist Claude Criquillon crashing and then sued Bauer for $1.5 million in damages. A few years later a Belgian judge decided the case in Bauer's favour.
